Patronage Determination, Bad Hair Days & Engaged Couples
Feast Day January 21
At thirteen years old, the Roman magistrate demanded Agnes sacrifice in the temple. She refused saying, “I serve him whom the angels serve.” Tradition tells that when she was stripped in the square, her hair miraculously grew to shield her body. She fearlessly stuck out her neck for the executioner as he lowered his axe. Traditionally, women ask Agnes for help in finding a husband.
