Patronage Libraries, Reading, & Being Flexible & Accommodating

Feast Day March 18

After Alexander was imprisoned for the faith the first time, he journeyed to Jerusalem and became bishop. He created a library and allowed Origen, a layman to preach in the churches before the man was ordained a priest. His warm nature aligns with legend. When he was sentenced to death, the wild animals were supposed to harm him, but licked his feet instead. He died in chains as a martyr.

Small Snippet

Saint Alexander, intercede to the Holy Ghost that I may develop a malleable attitude, accommodating others when my expectations aren’t perfectly met. That I can chill out.

Prayer

Artistic Process

I can’t find the name of the painter, but they were orthodox for sure.

Original Painting

Symbolize his warmth and love for his community.

Marigolds

This is a chain I own. I used this because Alexander is said to have died in chains.

Chains

Since he was a martyr, these branches symbolize his faith in the face of death.

Palm Branches

This was my first draft of Alexander’s design.
