Solace of Love 1844–1879

Patronage The Piano, Creativity, Thoughtfulness, Pondering & Trust

Feast Day November 8

Elizabeth grew up in France, following her contemporary Thérèse of Lisieux to become a Carmelite nun. She was musically gifted at a young age, playing the piano. Sabeth wanted to be a nun since she was 7 years old. When she was 14, the word “Carmel” was etched upon her soul. She waited to enter the convent 7 years later with permission from her mother. She died at the age of 26 from Addison’s Disease.

Small Snippet

Saint Elizabeth, intercede to the Holy Ghost that I may trust in the truth. When divine words are etched upon my heart, that I may not doubt their source.

Original Photo

Elizabeth wanted to be a Carmelite nun from a young age, and this seal symbolizes their order.

Carmelite Seal

This illustrated flower symbolizes the trust that Elizabeth lived with her faith.

Lily of the valley

Jesus died on a dogwood tree. These flowers represent love that which overcomes adversity. Elizabeth lived with this love.

Dogwood flowers.

These photos were taken in my neighborhood, Sunnyside NY. They symbolize remembrance.

Forget-me-nots

These were the most vividly blue flowers I’d seen. These are French flowers and tie Elizabeth to her home country.

Hydrangeas

This is a photo of vines, but I used it as ivy. Ivy symbolizes the trust and unconditional love that Elizabeth learned from God.
