St. Patrick of Ireland
St. Patrick of Ireland
Fearless Forgiver c. 390–450
Patronage Ireland, Forgiveness, Nigeria, Slaves, & Against Snakes
Feast Day March 17
Patrick was captured by Irish pirates and brought to Ireland as a young man from England. During his captivity, he worked as a shepherd and turned to God. After managing to escape his captors, Patrick felt compelled to forgive them, and eventually, as a bishop, he went back to help spread Christianity in Ireland. He taught the Holy Trinity using three-leaved shamrock plants.

Stainglass Photo
I took this at Holy Cross church on 42nd street between 8th and 9th in NYC. I went to this church during lunch at my first office in New York.
Shamrock Plant
Obviously these have a place in this image. These photos are of my personal shamrock plant. I keep it on my desk as I work. It’s a beautiful reminder of my heritage and makes me feel close to my family.
Shamrock Flowers
This ring means a lot to me in its Irish tradition. The hands symbolize friendship, the heart symbolizes charity, and the crown, which is omitted in my ring symbolizes loyalty. I chose an anatomical heart and skeleton hands to show that love is strong as death. This the bible book, Song of Songs.
Claddagh Ring
My original image of St. Patrick was made in 2021. I didn’t love it, and it was not nearly as personal or interesting as it should have been. It was good for what it was though!
