Feast Day September 27

Vincent became a French priest for the sake of stability and a comfortable life. His mindset shifted after hearing a man’s confession. That day inspired him to serve the vulnerable impoverished people in Paris. Vincent founded the Daughters of Charity, giving the sisters the option of serving in community, a contrast to cloistered life.

Small Snippet

Saint Vincent, intercede to the Holy Ghost that I may serve others with the abilities, gifts, talent, and time I have, even if it's just doing the dishes.

Artistic Process

I got this medal where St. Vincent is buried in his small chapel in Paris, France.

Medal

I chose these because their unique shape and extra ruffles made me think of Vincent’s unique ability to pay attention to the poor of Paris. It’s pointing out something noticeable, and choosing to see good where someone might keep a distance.

Pink Lilies

These represent beauty and purity of the soul. Yellow shows the lightness and gentleness of how St. Vinny treated people, especially those he healed.
