St. Elisabeth of Hungary

Generous Queen 1207– 1231

Patronage Hospitals, Nurses & Bakers

Feast Day November 17

Fun Fact

Elisabeth was the queen of Hungary. Once when taking bread to give to the poor, Elisabeth met her husband. When he asked what she had under her cloak, Ludwig saw a vision of red and white roses fall to the ground. This convinced him that God blessed her charitable works.

Prayer

Saint Elisabeth, intercede to the Holy Ghost that I may live with bold generosity and sincere self-sacrifice in any small way that I can.

Amen.
